What we do

IAEA Mission Support

We help our clients prepare for upcoming IAEA expert missions by conducting pre-IAEA assessments and identifying areas of development to focus on, to improve the outcome of the upcoming mission. We can also assist in finding solutions or avenues of development for the recommendations gained from past IAEA missions. With Ex-IAEA Assessors in our group, along with experts from many other governing bodies (Finnish / IAEA) and U.S. (DoE / DoD, civilian/commercial), we use our combined experience of lessons learned and best practices of international governmental and industrial organizations to provide world-class support.

Nuclear/Radiological Emergency Preparedness

We offer expert consulting services to determine areas to identify and prioritize development efforts to improve the emergency preparedness and response readiness capabilities of national/federal level organizations, private licensees, municipalities, and other local 1st responder groups. NURAS Group members have authored a formal, IAEA-reviewed, step-by-step, and comprehensive Response and Recovery Plan to a Radiological Dispersion Device in a major metropolitan area, to include in-depth methodology details, transportation plans, design of mobile drinking water filtration units, and design of a long-term storage facility for radiologically contaminated waste.

Our experts have experience in building, managing, and sustaining long term success. Let us help you improve your security, preparedness, and readiness for nuclear and radiological emergencies by utilizing our outside viewpoints and broad, international experience!

Regulation Development / Nuclear /Licensing Assistance

Our diverse experience with different regulations, requirements, and licensing procedures from around the globe allows us to provide insight into situations where the development of radiological or nuclear regulations is necessary to improve safety or streamline procedures.

Our experts have worked for some of the strictest regulators in the world, and their familiarity allows us to navigate the complexities of licensing and regulations and help those countries, organizations, and agencies which need to develop, improve, or update regulations, policies, and procedures. We also provide direct licensing assistance to clients who wish to focus on their core business but need to make sure that the licensing is taken care of in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Training and Exercise Support

We offer our collective capabilities to create a full spectrum of training and exercise support services. Our experts can help prepare for upcoming training events and exercises by developing plans, scenarios, and materials, and providing preliminary and supplementary training to participants. The exercises our team have provided include rare and unique scenarios for diverse audiences and organizations, from local 1st Responders to Elite Military Operators and Federal Police Units. We bring a capability to perform live, high activity and realistic radiological scenarios to meet any level of operational training or validation. All this is aimed to maximize the benefits and useful feedback gained from training and exercises.

Our experts create general and specific qualification requirements and training curricula from basic, entry-level practitioners and operators to advanced Train-The-Trainer experts to support sustained training programs in your organizations. These applications range from computer-based training and classroom training to field and live-action training, and live radioactive source and hands-on instrument training. Our team can assist with all phases of training and exercises, including development, certification, evaluation and support, and program validation. We can develop training infrastructure for multiple stakeholders to access and ensure continuity of training throughout diverse organizations.

Program Sustainment and Validation

At NURAS, we understand that the most important part of any program is the need to perform ongoing sustainment and validation of a program’s reliability and readiness. We offer a wide range of support from basic level of support and design to full scale sustainment management including evaluation and validation of the program and teams’ reliability and readiness. Specifically, we offer our expertise to review and assess your radiological programs, operations, training, qualification, and emergency preparedness. We will develop plans to aid you in strengthening, updating, and continuously improving your current programs and creating new programs as needed. We perform these services for national/federal level organizations, licensees, and municipalities.
